If you were beside me
Id slip my arm around your waist.
If you were beside me
Id lean over and kiss you with my eyes closed.
If you were beside me
Id tell you 'I love you' one thousand times--and mean it.
If you were beside me
I wouldnt have to write angsty poems to get through the day.
But, youre not beside me.
So I must remain a prisoner of my own mind.
Slaving over a pen and paper.
Ranting and raving
in my little black book------my own secret world.
Which is unleashed to the world amidst a flurry of criticisms.
